This website is home to an inquiry into sustainability, big sustainability, for want of a better term.

It began in 2013 as part of an MSc (Distinction) in Sustainability. My concern was with photography in the Anthropocene and understanding the role of photography. This interest traces back to 10 years earlier, when I first began to understand that photography worked differently as a form of knowledge. Over time my belief in the transformative potential of photography waned. Photographic practices were just too normative to be shifted. I slowly shifted my focus to geography, remote sensing (satellite images), and artificial intelligence, completing an MSc (Distinction) in Geography in 2021. The combination of sustainability and geography led me to a PhD in social-ecological complexity modelling, which I started in 2022.
